Pe­tit Val­ley/Co­corite coun­cil­lor, Waz­im Daniel, was vis­i­bly up­set when rolls of toi­let pa­per were thrown at him by a group of Co­corite res­i­dents, protest­ing the lack of work and ne­glect in their area, dur­ing a walk­a­bout in their com­mu­ni­ty yes­ter­day. He said: "I was very dis­turbed with the mat­ter with the toi­let pa­per. I em­ployed that same per­son in the pro­gramme and as much as we are com­ing to the min­is­ter to pro­pose cer­tain re­quests, in or­der to get re­spect you must give re­spect. I wont tol­er­ate that."

He said works in the dis­trict, such as clean­ing the main wa­ter­course and so­cial case work for res­i­dents, were be­ing done but was not recog­nised. Daniel was ac­com­pa­nied Min­is­ter of the Peo­ple and So­cial De­vel­op­ment Dr Glenn Ra­mad­hars­ingh. Com­mu­ni­ty spokesper­son, Ce­cil Skeete, said Co­corite had been for­got­ten and had many is­sues.
