Petit Valley/Cocorite councillor, Wazim Daniel, was visibly upset when rolls of toilet paper were thrown at him by a group of Cocorite residents, protesting the lack of work and neglect in their area, during a walkabout in their community yesterday. He said: “I was very disturbed with the matter with the toilet paper.  I employed that same person in the programme and as much as we are coming to the minister to propose certain requests, in order to get respect you must give respect. I wont tolerate that.”

He said works in the district, such as cleaning the main watercourse and social case work for residents, were being done but was not recognised. Daniel was accompanied Minister of the People and Social Development Dr Glenn Ramadharsingh. Community spokesperson, Cecil Skeete, said Cocorite had been forgotten and had many issues.
