Trinidad and Tobago and West Indies allrounder Dwayne Bravo says he was not injured when his car was involved in an accident on the Uriah Butler Highway on Wednesday. A newspaper report yesterday said Bravo, 29, received injuries to both hands and had to be treated at a health facility. The report said his white Jaguar sports car collided with a Suzuki SUV which then crashed into a Nissan Almera. No one was injured in the other two cars and Bravo's front-seat pas- TRUMPET DRILL senger also escaped unhurt, police said. The report said Bravo suffered soft-tissue damage to both hands.
However, speaking in an interview yesterday, he said: "I don't know where the reporters got their information from. There is absolutely nothing wrong with my hands and I am fine. Yes, I got in an accident but there is nothing wrong with me physically. "When those reports went out, it just sent people into a frenzy and caused a lot of panic. That was really unnecessary and I am fine." The national cricket team will play its sixth T20 trial match tomorrow but Bravo will not be involved in the game.
Manager of the team, Omar Khan, said: "Bravo has not taken part in any of the trial games so far because he is awaiting final word on whether he is available to play for Trinidad and Tobago in the upcoming Champions League." The accident happened near the site where West Indies cricketer, Runako Morton, was killed earlier this year when his car crashed into a utility pole.
