Sports Min­is­ter Anil Roberts is in Lon­don, Eng­land, for the Olympic Games both as swim­mer George Bovell III's coach and al­so rep­re­sent­ing T&T, ac­cord­ing to the Sports Min­istry and Gov­ern­ment. Fol­low­ing a T&T Guardian query, Com­mu­ni­ca­tion Min­is­ter Ja­mal Mo­hammed said Sports Min­is­ter Roberts was in Lon­don as Sports Min­is­ter. He said Roberts was stay­ing at the Olympic Vil­lage.

"I?can't give you the costs un­til the vis­it is com­plete,"?Mo­hammed said. Sportt Com­pa­ny com­mu­ni­ca­tion of­fi­cer Natasha Nunez-St Clair al­so said Roberts was in Lon­don both in the ca­pac­i­ty of Bovell's coach and al­so on of­fi­cial busi­ness as Sports Min­is­ter. She said she un­der­stood Roberts was stay­ing at the Olympic Vil­lage in his ca­pac­i­ty as coach. She was un­aware if Roberts has stayed else­where.

Roberts didn't re­ply to sev­er­al cell­phone calls on the is­sue yes­ter­day. Act­ing Sports Min­is­ter and Prime Min­is­ter Jack Warn­er al­so did not not re­spond to calls. His min­istry re­ferred queries on Roberts' ac­com­mo­da­tion and cost of his over­seas stay to Roberts.
