Doc­tors were run­ning tests yes­ter­day on for­mer pres­i­dent Arthur NR?Robin­son, who was hos­pi­talised on Mon­day, ac­cord­ing to Robin­son's sec­re­tary Clair Raphael. Raphael said yes­ter­day Robin­son was tak­en to the St Clair Med­ical Cen­tre on Mon­day af­ter com­plain­ing of feel­ing un­well. He was sub­se­quent­ly sta­bilised. Raphael said he was in a pri­vate room and she had spo­ken to him on Tues­day. She said Robin­son was in good spir­its.

"There is no word just yet on his con­di­tion,"?she said. She could not say how long Robin­son would be ward­ed. Com­mu­ni­ca­tion Min­is­ter Ja­mal Mo­hammed said Gov­ern­ment was al­so mon­i­tor­ing Robin­son's con­di­tion. Robin­son, 85, has suf­fered bouts of ill health over the last decade, in­clud­ing heart and prostate is­sues. His wife Pa­tri­cia died in 2009 af­ter long­stand­ing ill­ness­es.
