Shooting incidents leave two injured

A 22-year-old man and a 38- year-old woman remained hospitalised yesterday after they were shot in separate incidents in Curepe and Diego Martin. Police said in the first incident around 8.35 pm on Monday, Kyle Rojas, of Curepe, was at home when an argument broke out. He was shot three times by a man. Rojas was taken to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex, Mt Hope, where he was treated and warded in a stable condition.

 

 

Police yesterday said an arrest was imminent. In the second shooting around 5.15 am yesterday, Vernetta Le Maitre, 38, of Diego Martin was at home when she was awakened by a noise. A man entered her home and shot her in the right leg.The man left the house without taking valuables, police said. Police officers took Le Maitre to Port-of-Spain General Hospital where she was treated and warded in a stable condition. Cpl Linton of the Four Roads Police Station is continuing enquiries.
