A San Juan man who pleaded guilty to ten fraud and narcotics-related offences will be sentenced tomorrow when he reappears before a Port-of-Spain magistrate. Wayne Mc Intosh, 51, of El Socorro Road Extension, pleaded guilty to all charges when he stood before magistrate Marcia Murray in the Port-of-Spain First Court yesterday.
The court heard from prosecutor Sgt Callister Charles that on five separate occasions between July 24 and August 11, at locations in Chaguanas, Caroni, San Juan and Port-of-Spain, Mc Intosh allegedly produced a false driver's permit and a false identification card in the name of Ruben Hansraj.
Mc Intosh was charged with attempting to defraud Dexter John of $110,000 in cash on July 24 in Chaguanas and Jacqueline John of $55,000 in cash on July 31 in Chaguanas by pretending to be Hansraj, who was the owner authorised to sell off a parcel of land at Orchard Gardens, Chaguanas, valued at $550,000. Mc Intosh was also charged with possession of marijuana and cocaine on August 11 in San Juan.
Remanding Mc Intosh in custody until his reappearance tomorrow, Murray later transferred the matters in the Chaguanas jurisdiction to August 21. The charges were laid by Sgt Learie Roach of the Fraud Squad.
