Two days after he robbed an elderly woman of her cellphone, valued at $800, police arrested a suspect after he was seen walking in Aranguez. Around 9.30 am on August 10, the victim was at her home at Lotto Street, El Socorro, when the man came in and ordered her to make a call for him. The woman told police the man grabbed her cellphone and escaped.
Around 7 am on August 12, the victim spotted the 21-year-old man, from Aranguez Main Road, walking in the area and pointed him out to relatives, who called the police. Barataria police later arrested the man, who was alleged to have broken into a bar and hotel along Satar Street, Aranguez, on August 9. During the break-in, the man is alleged to have stolen a quantity of alcohol valued at $4,500. The suspect was charged by PC Reyes of the Barataria CID. -Anna-Lisa Paul
