Two days af­ter he robbed an el­der­ly woman of her cell­phone, val­ued at $800, po­lice ar­rest­ed a sus­pect af­ter he was seen walk­ing in Aranguez. Around 9.30 am on Au­gust 10, the vic­tim was at her home at Lot­to Street, El So­cor­ro, when the man came in and or­dered her to make a call for him. The woman told po­lice the man grabbed her cell­phone and es­caped.

Around 7 am on Au­gust 12, the vic­tim spot­ted the 21-year-old man, from Aranguez Main Road, walk­ing in the area and point­ed him out to rel­a­tives, who called the po­lice. Barataria po­lice lat­er ar­rest­ed the man, who was al­leged to have bro­ken in­to a bar and ho­tel along Sa­tar Street, Aranguez, on Au­gust 9. Dur­ing the break-in, the man is al­leged to have stolen a quan­ti­ty of al­co­hol val­ued at $4,500. The sus­pect was charged by PC Reyes of the Barataria CID. -An­na-Lisa Paul
