The body of a man was found floating yesterday in Williams Bay, Chaguaramas, near the newly-constructed Chaguaramas Boardwalk. A visitor saw the body around 7.10 am while walking along the boardwalk. He swam towards the body, which was floating several hundred metres from the shore, and pulled it out. Police were contacted and they took it to the Forensic Science Centre, St James, where a post-mortem is expected to be done today.
The dead man, of East Indian descent, was dressed in green short pants and had a cross tattooed on his chest. He was said to be about 56 years old. Police believe he might have been a visitor to the beach last weekend. He is believed to have drowned. Members of the public who may be able to identify him are asked to contact PC Molino at the St James Police Station.
