The body of a man was found float­ing yes­ter­day in Williams Bay, Ch­aguara­mas, near the new­ly-con­struct­ed Ch­aguara­mas Board­walk. A vis­i­tor saw the body around 7.10 am while walk­ing along the board­walk. He swam to­wards the body, which was float­ing sev­er­al hun­dred me­tres from the shore, and pulled it out. Po­lice were con­tact­ed and they took it to the Foren­sic Sci­ence Cen­tre, St James, where a post-mortem is ex­pect­ed to be done to­day.

The dead man, of East In­di­an de­scent, was dressed in green short pants and had a cross tat­tooed on his chest. He was said to be about 56 years old. Po­lice be­lieve he might have been a vis­i­tor to the beach last week­end. He is be­lieved to have drowned. Mem­bers of the pub­lic who may be able to iden­ti­fy him are asked to con­tact PC Moli­no at the St James Po­lice Sta­tion.
