La Reine Rive finalists show talent today

The finals of the Prime Minister’s Best Village Trophy Competition of the Ministry of Community Development continues this weekend with the Miss La Reine Rive Talent competition featuring drumology and tassa from 6 pm today at Queen’s Hall in St Ann’s. Admission to this event is $50. Tickets are available at the Queen’s Hall Box Office.
A statement from the Ministry of Community Development said the 25 La Reine Rive finalists will showcase their talent in areas such as dance, song, poetry and music. The delegates competed in the category of self-expression at the Naparima Bowl last week. The Folk Festival schedule is as follows:
• August 21 to August 23—Folk Theatre, at Queen’s Hall in St Ann’s from 6.30 pm
• August 27 to August 28—Folk Presentation (Music), at Queen’s Hall from 6.30 pm
• September 1—Folk Presentation (Dance), at Queen’s Hall from 1 pm
• September 2—Le Grand Z’Affaire (crowning of Miss La Reine Rive, results of all competitions and best performances from the villages) at Queen’s Hall from 5 pm.
