Trinida­di­an Tachkoo Har­gob­in, 52, broth­er of pun­dit Chaitram Har­gob­in, has died af­ter be­ing hit by a bus in New York. Ac­cord­ing to Chaitram, his broth­er moved to the US ap­prox­i­mate­ly 18 years ago where he worked for Hep­haitos Build­ing Sup­ply. Chaitram said his broth­er was "hum­ble, down-to-earth" and gen­er­ous." He al­so said he went to the US seek­ing a bet­ter life. Fu­ner­al arrange­ments are still be­ing made but Chaitram said his broth­er want­ed to be buried in T&T. Har­gob­in was one of eight sib­lings, all born and raised in Con­go Vil­lage, Debe. The New York Dai­ly News re­port­ed yes­ter­day that Har­gob­in was hit while load­ing a com­pa­ny truck in Queens, New York. Re­ports said he died on the spot. Har­gob­in leaves be­hind his wife, two chil­dren and one grand­child.
