A teenag­er was shot and killed on Sat­ur­day while vis­it­ing his fa­ther in Mara­cas/St Joseph. Po­lice said Is­rael Fer­nan­des, 19, of Ari­ma, went to vis­it his fa­ther at Guarat­ta Vil­lage around 11.25 am. He re­ceived a phone call and stepped out­side of the house to con­tin­ue talk­ing. Rel­a­tives said they heard sev­er­al gun­shots and up­on check­ing, they found Fer­nan­des ly­ing in a drain with gun­shot wounds to the head.

Po­lice said he was not a known crim­i­nal and there is no mo­tive for his mur­der. In­sp Ramnaresh Seecha­ran, Sgt Samuel and Cpl lynch are con­tin­u­ing in­ves­ti­ga­tions.
