A 33-year-old Coast Guard of­fi­cer was killed in an ear­ly morn­ing ac­ci­dent in To­ba­go on Wednes­day. He has been iden­ti­fied as Dion Charles of Ma­son Hall. A re­port said the ac­ci­dent hap­pened just af­ter 1 am on the Claude Noel High­way. Po­lice said Charles was dri­ving east on the high­way when he col­lid­ed head-on with an­oth­er ve­hi­cle. Eye- wit­ness­es said the dri­ver of the oth­er ve­hi­cle lost con­trol of his white BMW and crashed in­to Charles' brown Kia car. He died on the spot. Charles was the son of di­rec­tor of the To­ba­go Emer­gency Man­age­ment Agency (TEMA), Al­lan Stew­art.­
