The own­er of a Pe­nal night­club and a cloth­ing pro­pri­etor were among 16 held by po­lice dur­ing an ex­er­cise on Fri­day. The ex­er­cise was car­ried out by the South West­ern Di­vi­sion­al Task Force and Pe­nal CID. The sus­pects, rang­ing be­tween the ages of 18 and 57, in­clude one held for firearm pos­ses­sion, six for nar­cotics and the oth­ers on out­stand­ing war­rants.

All will ap­pear at the Siparia Mag­is­trates Court to­mor­row. Of the per­sons charged with nar­cot­ic pos­ses­sion, two were charged with pos­ses­sion of co­caine for the pur­pose of traf­fick­ing. They were held with­in 500 me­tres of the Pe­nal Pres­by­ter­ian Pri­ma­ry School. One, a 32-year-old man, was held with 28 grammes of co­caine worth $2,000 and a 30-year-old man was found with three grammes of co­caine and two grammes of mar­i­jua­na.
