Clyde Henry only discovered his water pump was stolen when he turned on his taps and got no water. It turned out that the man whom he had hired to install the pump and his toilet system had stolen it. Rawlins Mohammed, 55, admitted that he stole the pump when he appeared before acting Deputy Chief Magistrate Rajendra Rambachan in the San Fernando First Court.
Police prosecutor Ramdath Phillip said Henry last saw the water pump, connected to his water tank, at his Springland, Gasparillo, home around 8.30 am on October 4. Later that day, around 3 pm, Henry went to check the pump because he was not getting water in his house. He realised it was missing and made a report.
Mohammed was arrested the next day by PC Clint Lezama. Mohammed was denied bail and remanded into custody until today for sentencing.
