Homicide detectives are investigating the discovery of two partially decomposed bodies found hours apart in San Fernando. However, they are stumped about the circumstances surrounding the deaths and are awaiting autopsy reports before they can continue with their enquiries.
The first corpse was found around 4.45 pm at Battoo Boulevard, Marabella, after a resident reported a stench emanating from her neighbour's house. A party of officers, led by Insp Haynes and PC Bahadur, went to the house and found the bloated body of 65-year-old Evadney Charles on her bed. She was clad in a white nightgown and blue headscarf.
Neighbours said they last saw Charles alive on October 15. At around 9 am, police were again called out to investigate a body, this time at Prince Albert Street, San Fernando. The partially decomposed body of a man was found at the roadside in front of an empty lot. The police suspect it may have been there for roughly 72 hours before anyone noticed.
Both bodies were taken to the Forensic Science Centre in St James for autopsy reports.
