Diego Mar­tin North/East MP Colm Im­bert has charged that the Ad­min­is­tra­tion of Jus­tice (In­dictable Pro­ceed­ings) Bill was not made avail­able to the pub­lic since the procla­ma­tion was still be­ing fi­nalised, yet there were at­tor­neys lin­ing up at the court to make claims that their re­spec­tive clients should be re­leased.

Speak­ing on the Op­po­si­tion mo­tion of cen­sure against the At­tor­ney Gen­er­al Anand Ram­lo­gan in the House of Rep­re­sen­ta­tives yes­ter­day, Im­bert said: "Gazette No. 142 of 2012 was last mod­i­fied on Sep­tem­ber 10, 2012 at 5.41 pm. "It means that the procla­ma­tion was still be­ing worked on and fi­nalised by the Gov­ern­ment Print­ery up to 5.41 pm on Sep­tem­ber 10, 2012 but the ap­pli­cants were be­fore the court on the morn­ing of Sep­tem­ber 10, the same day," he said.

But D'Abadie/O'Meara MP, Anil Roberts ar­gued that jour­nal­ists were re­port­ing on the bill's procla­ma­tion and that meant that the pub­lic had ac­cess to the bill. The mo­tion calls on the House to ex­press its loss of con­fi­dence in Ram­lo­gan and to call on the Prime Min­is­ter to "im­me­di­ate­ly re­lieve him of the port­fo­lio of At­tor­ney Gen­er­al of Trinidad and To­ba­go."
