Another member of the well-known Annamunthodo family of San Fernando has been killed. San Fernando businessman Viren Annamunthodo was stabbed to death in front of his Pleasantville printery, a business he inherited from his father, former social activist Walter Annamunthodo.
The elder Annamunthodo was found murdered almost 20 years ago at his home. His murder remains unsolved. His young relative, Amy Annamunthodo, also met a brutal death at the age of four. Her stepfather Marlon King was found guilty of her murder and sentenced to death by hanging. With his dying breath, Viren called his wife, Denise, who was at their nearby home at Pleasantville Avenue, telling her he had been stabbed.
She rushed to the businessplace and with the help of others placed her bleeding husband in the backseat of her car, bound for the San Fernando General Hospital. However, before she could drive off, police vehicles arrived on the scene, blocking her passage. Officers checked for vital signs but could find none.
Police said around 7:30 am, Annamunthodo, 57, who inherited the property after his father's death and a court battle with his brother, Nagendra, arrived at Unique Service Printery, Cassia Avenue, Pleasantville, to open the business as is customary. As the father of three came out of his Nissan Almera, he was ambushed by a man who stabbed him in his chest.
