T&T's Embassy in Washington and the Consulate General's office in Miami will continue to provide auxiliary services to T&T nationals resident in New York following the passage of Hurricane Sandy. Operations at the T&T Consulate General's office in Lower Manhattan, New York City, New York, remains closed almost two weeks after the US State was hit by Hurricane Sandy.
And as the diplomatic staff move to restore the agency to full service, local passport holders in the immediate area are being redirected to the sister offices for service and assistance according to advisory issued by New York Consulate General, Rudrawatee Nan Ramgoolam.
The communiqué was specific to nationals in Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island and Vermont. Nan Ramgoolam explained that power and telephone services were still unavailable. She said her prayers were with nationals and US citizen in the affected areas and called on nationals to co-operate with their local authorities as they work to restore services.
