Government will be spend more than $1.3 million to upgrade another project at Dow Village in central Trinidad. Minister in the Ministry of Finance and Couva South MP Rudranath Indarsingh said on Wednesday the money would be spent to develop infrastructure at the Dow Village Recreation Ground. He made the announcement while speaking at the opening of the upgraded Caldrac Club House at Dow Village which cost $750,000.
The cost of the refurbishment to the club was paid for by the National Gas Company (NGC). It was only last year that $1 million was spent to upgrade the Ramleela centre in the area. Indarsingh said drainage and fencing at the club house would be done by the Ministry of Local Government, through a Unemployment Relief Programme (URP) project.
The minister said he was happy to see NGC pumped money into projects in central Trinidad. These projects included the Couva Children's Home, the Police Youth Club and the Joylanders Pan Yard.
