Rur­al com­mu­ni­ties will be the main fo­cus for the Min­istry of Works and In­fra­struc­ture in the new year. So said Sta­cy Roop­nar­ine, min­is­ter in the Min­istry of Works and In­fra­struc­ture. She was at the time speak­ing with the me­dia on Wednes­day night when she host­ed her an­nu­al Christ­mas par­ty at the Petrotrin Sports Club, Pe­nal.

Roop­nar­ine said these com­mu­ni­ties could look for­ward to hav­ing their roads, bridges and land­slips re­paired. She said gov­ern­ment al­so planned to con­tin­ue to ex­pand the north-south high­way and open the first phase of the San Fer­nan­do to Point Fortin High­way.

Roop­nar­ine, the MP for Oropouche West said she planned to con­tin­ue the up­grade of in­fra­struc­ture in her com­mu­ni­ty and boost the hu­man cap­i­tal po­ten­tial in the area through var­i­ous train­ing op­por­tu­nites.
