Rural communities will be the main focus for the Ministry of Works and Infrastructure in the new year. So said Stacy Roopnarine, minister in the Ministry of Works and Infrastructure. She was at the time speaking with the media on Wednesday night when she hosted her annual Christmas party at the Petrotrin Sports Club, Penal.
Roopnarine said these communities could look forward to having their roads, bridges and landslips repaired. She said government also planned to continue to expand the north-south highway and open the first phase of the San Fernando to Point Fortin Highway.
Roopnarine, the MP for Oropouche West said she planned to continue the upgrade of infrastructure in her community and boost the human capital potential in the area through various training opportunites.
