Caribbean Air­lines is mon­i­tor­ing a pow­er­ful win­ter storm blamed for 15 deaths in var­i­ous parts of the Unit­ed States.

The storm, which was this af­ter­noon bring­ing rain and snow to the north-east Unit­ed States, slowed down com­muters fly­ing home from hol­i­day vis­its with fam­i­ly.

The storm left up to a foot of snow in some lo­ca­tions this morn­ing.

By noon, the pre­cip­i­ta­tion had stopped in parts of Penn­syl­va­nia and New Jer­sey, though rain con­tin­ued in Mass­a­chu­setts and snow con­tin­ued to fall in up­state New York, New Hamp­shire, Maine and Ver­mont.
