Ap­peal Court judge Wen­dell Kan­ga­loo has re­turned to T&T af­ter ex­ten­sive treat­ment in the US. Kan­ga­loo, 56, sus­tained crit­i­cal in­juries in an ac­ci­dent on the Churchill-Roo­sevelt High­way in May. He was act­ing as Chief Jus­tice at the time.

A state­ment from the Ju­di­cia­ry's de­part­ment of court ad­min­is­tra­tion said yes­ter­day Kan­ga­loo re­ceived treat­ment at Johns Hop­kins Hos­pi­tal in Bal­ti­more Mary­land and the Re­ha­bil­i­ta­tion In­sti­tute of Chica­go in Chica­go, Illi­nois.

Chief Jus­tice Ivor Archie met Kan­ga­loo and his fam­i­ly at the air­port and said: "We will con­tin­ue to pray for that de­vel­op­ment and we tru­ly look for­ward to the day when Jus­tice Kan­ga­loo will be re­unit­ed with his col­leagues on the bench."

Ac­cord­ing to the re­lease, Kan­ga­loo will re­quire "a mea­sure of pri­va­cy and qui­et to facil­li­tate con­tin­ued ther­a­py and al­low him to re­set­tle."
