Spiritual leader of the Edinburgh Hindu Temple Pundit Ramesh Tiwari is urging T&T to use, "the spiritual DNA to get rid of hate, malice, anger and jealousy" in society. He said so in his New Year's message at the temple's annual celebrations on Monday night. He spoke of the gradual replacing of sensuality to God's spirituality."
"This is a retrograde step, the end result of this paradigm shift will be painful not to our nation, but also to the Government of the day in more than one ways. We all possess spiritual DNA which is the inner wisdom that resides within us that transmits messages about the importance of moral, spiritual and ethical values. These messages are signals or directive from our inner source of intuition that guides us through our authentic life. Life flows more smoothly when we heed our inner messages," Tiwari told more than 300 devotees.
He added: "God's message to us is that we must work towards redemption from the evil forces of the world. The dark forces in our land that preach hate, anger, discrimination, frustration, self-destruction, prejudices, corruption and hypocrisy must be dismissed in 2013. We must take every effort to liberate ourselves from all these negative influences in order to secure a better future for our beloved nation."
Tiwari said Lord Rama reminded people that the purpose of this body was to act as a buffer to insulate people from the outside world and to fulfil the spiritual pathway to life. "It also acts as a teacher of some of the initial and fundamental lessons about being human. No one must believe that he or she has the right to deny us about the right to love and to enjoy the fruits of our labour and indeed the gifts from God."
"Since there is no refund, no exchange policy on this body of ours, it is essential that we learn to transform one's body and one's mind from a mere vessel of sensual enjoyment to one of eternal happiness. It is the blueprint from which all our other relationships must be built," Tiwari said.
