Cop, girlfriend appear on larceny charges
A police constable with nine years’ service and his girlfriend appeared in court yesterday charged with larceny of $205,000 from four people from June to October last year. PC Lindon Dixon, 29, of Coalmine Road, Sangre Grande, and businesswoman Sharlon Cummings, 25, of Arima Old Road, Arima, stood before Magistrate Gloria Jasmath in the Port-of-Spain Eleventh Court. The two were represented by attorney Nigel Trancoso.
Dixon was last assigned to the La Horquetta Police Station, while Cummings operates Buddies Exclusive, a clothing store in Sangre Grande. They are jointly charged with four offences each, while Cummings was slapped with a fifth charge.
The charges are that on August 24, 2012 at Arima, they stole $35,000 from Giselle Garcia; that on June 29, 2012 at Trincity, they stole $55,000 from Kerry Ramkissoon; and that on September 19 and October 15, 2012 at Arima, they stole $90,000 from Thomas Nicholas.
Cummings was also charged with stealing $25,000 from Javier Yorke on May 9, 2012 at Trincity. Dixon and Cummings were arrested on January 10. The charges were laid by Sgt Learie Road and Cpl Farreal Bachew of the Fraud Squad.
