As To­bag­o­ni­ans take to the poll to­day, in­cum­bent Chief Sec­re­tary of the To­ba­go House of As­sem­bly (THA) Orville Lon­don is con­sid­er­ing his le­gal op­tions af­ter he said a Web site was cre­at­ed with­out his per­mis­sion or knowl­edge.The Web site's ad­dress orvil­lelon­don.com was set up ear­li­er this month and showed an il­lus­tra­tion of Lon­don and al­so re­port­ed­ly post­ed neg­a­tive com­ments about Lon­don's lead­er­ship of the THA.

Con­tact­ed yes­ter­day, Lon­don who de­scribed the is­sue as "a threat to democ­ra­cy," said it al­so re­flect­ed a lack of re­spect for in­tegri­ty and moral­i­ty. "Where is it go­ing to stop? If they do things like this where is it go­ing to stop? I have not cre­at­ed any Web site and I am re­al­ly con­cerned about that de­vel­op­ment," Lon­don said.

Call­ing on those in pub­lic life to un­der­stand the im­pli­ca­tions of such a mat­ter Lon­don said it would on­ly lead to de­struc­tion of the coun­try's democ­ra­cy.Lon­don said he did not know who cre­at­ed the Web site but said he would have the mat­ter in­ves­ti­gat­ed."I am go­ing to have this in­ves­ti­gat­ed both from a tech­ni­cal and le­gal per­spec­tive. If ac­tions have to be tak­en I would def­i­nite­ly take the ac­tion.

"I have to do all in my pow­er and I am cer­tain I will get the sup­port of all right think­ing of­fi­cials to have this stopped. The peo­ple who are guilty to do­ing things like that must be pun­ished to the very ex­tent of the law," Lon­don said.He said he had no prob­lem be­ing judged by what he said or did but was forced to be con­cerned when a neg­a­tive im­pres­sion was cre­at­ed of him.
