A Santa Cruz gardener was killed yesterday after an argument with two brothers who he accused of stealing peppers from his garden. At around 1pm yesterday 76-year-old gardener Clyde Thomas left his house and approached the home of his neighbours. There, he confronted the two brothers about stealing peppers from his garden. The argument got heated and the men went into their homes.
Police said they returned moments later with cutlasses and attacked Thomas, chopping him several times about his body. Thomas' relatives took him to Port-of-Spain General Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
