A 60-year-old man who claimed he went to buy co­caine for a woman he was go­ing to have an af­fair with, was jailed for four months on Wednes­day.Gabriel Bab­wah, of Low­er Hill­side, San Fer­nan­do, said he was re­turn­ing to the woman with the co­caine when he was ar­rest­ed.

He plead­ed guilty be­fore San Fer­nan­do Sixth Court Mag­is­trate Lisa Ram­sumair-Hinds.Po­lice pros­e­cu­tor Sgt Kr­ish­na Be­dasie said around 7.30 am on Tues­day, PC George stopped Bab­wah, who was rid­ing a bi­cy­cle. The co­caine, 0.6 grammes, was found in his hand, Be­dasie said.

Bab­wah claimed he and the woman were go­ing to have an af­fair and she sent him for the drugs.The mag­is­trate said she had heard of women sell­ing them­selves short and ask­ing for KFC, but nev­er for co­caine.

Bab­wah had five pre­vi­ous con­vic­tions for sim­i­lar of­fences.
