London to call on Kamla this month
Chief secretary of the Tobago House of Assembly (THA) Orville London is to meet Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar at her St Clair office later this month. This is according to a release issued by the THA yesterday. London wrote Persad-Bissessar shortly after leading the PNM to a landslide 12-0 victory in the January 21 Tobago House of Assembly election. He requested an urgent meeting with the PM to review:
• The process for the granting of self government to Tobago
• The relationship between Ministers of Government and Secretaries in the Tobago House of Assembly
• Funding for housing programmes in Tobago
It will be the first official meeting between the two leaders in almost one year.
