Port-of-Spain may­or Louis Lee Sing is call­ing for a full in­ves­ti­ga­tion from act­ing Po­lice Com­mis­sion­er Stephen Williams af­ter claims that two of­fi­cers of the Port-of-Spain City Cor­po­ra­tion were man­han­dled by po­lice of­fi­cers on Car­ni­val Tues­day.The in­ci­dent re­port­ed­ly oc­curred out­side City Hall, Knox Street.

"When the na­tion­al po­lice did not have their way, they man­han­dled our of­fi­cers...they jacked-up one of our se­nior of­fi­cers against a wall and bent his hand."When an­oth­er one of our of­fi­cers at­tempt­ed to walk away from his ag­gres­sor who was an­oth­er po­lice of­fi­cer, that of­fi­cer pulled his jer­sey and hit the ba­ton sev­er­al times in his chest," Lee Sing said.

De­scrib­ing such be­hav­iour as un­ac­cept­able, Lee Sing added it could not be con­doned.Speak­ing at a press brief­ing held yes­ter­day at the Na­tion­al Se­cu­ri­ty build­ing at Aber­crom­by Street, Port-of-Spain, Deputy Po­lice Com­mis­sion­er Ray­mond Craig said the mat­ter was un­der in­ves­ti­ga­tion.
