Five peo­ple were se­ri­ous­ly in­jured in a traf­fic ac­ci­dent in Glam­or­gan, To­ba­go, on Wednes­day af­ter­noon. Ac­cord­ing to po­lice re­ports the ac­ci­dent oc­curred short­ly af­ter 4 pm near the Glam­or­gan Com­mu­ni­ty Cen­tre.

Re­ports are that the dri­ver of a white Nis­san Fron­tier truck TCE 6803, was head­ing east along the Wind­ward Road, Glam­or­gan, with four pas­sen­gers when it ran off the road and plum­met­ed down the side of a hill.

The dri­ver has been iden­ti­fied as Clive Jack­son while the pas­sen­gers were Di­anne Phillips, Don­na Alexan­der, Brent Roberts and Ge­va Job.Of­fi­cials say the van plunged ap­prox­i­mate­ly 100 feet off the main road.

Po­lice re­ports say all pas­sen­gers were se­ri­ous­ly in­jured and were rushed to the Scar­bor­ough Gen­er­al Hos­pi­tal by EHS am­bu­lances. Of­fi­cers from the Rox­bor­ough and Scar­bor­ough Fire Ser­vice Sta­tions al­so re­spond­ed and vis­it­ed the scene. Po­lice from the Rox­bor­ough po­lice sta­tion are in­ves­ti­gat­ing.

Last Sun­day five peo­ple were killed in­stant­ly when two cars col­lid­ed on the Claude Noel High­way, To­ba­go. In the light of the ac­ci­dents, of­fi­cials in To­ba­go are urg­ing peo­ple to take ex­tra pre­cau­tions on the roads.
