A mechanic accused of committing 32 sexual offences on a 14-year-old girl has been granted $300,000 bail.Ryan Dabideen, 40, a father of two, who arrested on Saturday first appeared before a Justice of the Peace on Tuesday and was remanded into custody.
He re-appeared on Wednesday before Deputy Chief Magistrate Mark Wellington in the San Fernando Magistrates Court.The charges include one count of rape, two counts of serious indecency and 29 indecent assault offences. The sex acts were allegedly committed on the girl between September and November last year. The charges were laid by PC Donald Snaggs.
The magistrate invited Dabideen's attorney Cedric Neptune to sit while he read the charges. In a bail application, Neptune said Dabideen surrendered to the police and was a first-time offender. Despite the significant amount of charges, he said only one victim was involved. He also asked that the matter be expedited.Wellington adjourned the matter to March 30.
