Res­i­dents of In­di­an Trail in cen­tral Trinidad will get their land­slips re­paired short­ly.Ca­roni Cen­tral MP Dr Glenn Ra­mad­hars­ingh said so while speak­ing to the me­dia dur­ing a com­mu­ni­ty tour yes­ter­day.

The Min­is­ter of Peo­ple and So­cial De­vel­op­ment said he planned to li­aise with the Min­istries of Lo­cal Gov­ern­ment and Works and In­fra­struc­ture to have in­fra­struc­tur­al works ex­e­cut­ed in the short­est pos­si­ble time.

Ra­mad­hars­ingh al­so asked res­i­dents to do their part to keep crime down by look­ing out for mem­bers of their com­mu­ni­ty.He said peo­ple have al­lowed mon­ey, greed and ar­ro­gance to step in­to their lives and have for­got­ten about the less for­tu­nate in their com­mu­ni­ties.

Ra­mad­hars­ingh said the less for­tu­nate should not be ig­nored and be al­lowed to slip through the cracks and en­ter a life of de­viant be­hav­iour. He said a sense of re­spon­si­bil­i­ty for all com­mu­ni­ties must come from with­in com­mu­ni­ty mem­bers who want to see the bet­ter­ment of their area.

He said peo­ple liv­ing in rur­al ar­eas want to see de­vel­op­ment tak­ing place in their com­mu­ni­ties rather than all de­vel­op­ment be­ing ur­ban cen­tred.
