The beheading of a La Romaine man needs to be fully examined and this calls for everyone to rewrite the script of life, according to Pundit Ramesh Tiwari, spiritual leader of the Edinburgh Hindu Temple. He told the Sunday morning service: "The supreme being did not send anyone without a head...He sent them with a whole spiritual body and he would not receive one's head without the body. "No film director would undertake to do a movie without fully considering and researching the total complexities of a movie," he said.
"Similarly, each human being must fully consider his or her life and adjust to the circumstances in the social, spiritual and moral environment. "Following that, one can work on a script of life of to redeem oneself and graduate to a life of fullness, juxtaposing to teachings of the great religions of mankind, whether one is a Hindu, Muslim or Christian.
"Crime is not the business of the Government alone. Crime is everybody's business and concern, and we all must come forward to make a serous dent to stop the flow of blood in our streets and homes. This once peaceful nation is now soaked in human blood. "This nation cannot proceed any further without the total reduction in crime. One person who loses his life in criminal activities is one too many.
We have to return to our church, our mosque and our temple. "Our history to the world must not be inked in human blood. Rather, it must be written within the perimeter of our Constitution that we promote and adhere to the principles of law, order and good governance," Tiwari said. Parents have an important role to play in teaching their children to pray and to return to basic human values which remain over generations, he said.
Tiwari said he saw the need for all to regenerate the process of life, guided by the great scriptwriter, the supreme being.
