Cops hold two for Carnival robbery
Police have arrested two suspects in connection with the brazen robbery of two people believed to be tourists on Carnival Tuesday at the Queen’s Park Savannah, Port-of-Spain. Port-of-Spain CID officers were able to make the arrests after the T&T Guardian exclusively highlighted the incident this week with a series of photos showing the attack.
Some of the photos were taken by a T&T Guardian reader and two by photographer Edison Boodoosingh. T&T Guardian staff took the photos to the police. They went viral online after being published. Police are asking anyone affected by the incident to contact Port-of-Spain CID. The suspects were detained yesterday and are expected to be put on ID parades this weekend.
On Carnival Tuesday, a gang of men attacked the tourists as the band Legacy was crossing the QPS stage. The men severely beat one of the visitors, leaving him bleeding on the ground, and overwhelmed a Legacy security guard when he intervened.
