A car ac­ci­dent in To­ba­go on Sat­ur­day morn­ing has left one man dead and two oth­ers ward­ed in hos­pi­tal.Ac­cord­ing to re­ports, around 11.30 am, fire of­fi­cer Er­rol Bap­tiste was dri­ving along Wind­ward Road, Mt St George in the com­pa­ny of his broth­er Vic­tor.Po­lice said that Bap­tiste was turn­ing north on­to Bel­mont Road, when his ve­hi­cle col­lid­ed with a pink Nis­san Blue­bird, which was be­ing dri­ven by Ol­son Wright.

Wright and the two broth­ers were in­jured in the crash. Fire of­fi­cers re­spond­ed to the scene soon af­ter and us­ing hy­draulic pow­er tools they freed the men from the man­gled wreck­ages. The vic­tims were tak­en to the Scar­bor­ough Gen­er­al Hos­pi­tal, where 58-year-old Vic­tor, of Co­cow­at­ty Trace, Ma­son Hall, died while un­der­go­ing emer­gency surgery.His broth­er and Wright were treat­ed and re­mained ward­ed in a sta­ble con­di­tion up to late yes­ter­day.

Vic­tor's death brought To­ba­go's road fa­tal­i­ty toll for the year to sev­en.Cpl An­dre Se­bro is in­ves­ti­gat­ing the ac­ci­dent.
