Yesterday's weekly Cabinet meeting was suspended and will continue tomorrow since Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar had to go to Caracas, according to Communications Minister Jamal Mohammed. The PM left at 4.30 pm yesterday for Caracas to attend today's funeral for the late Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez.
Other PP officials said the Cabinet would have to continue tomorrow since there were many matters on yesterday's agenda. They confirmed that included state board appointments, security issues and other matters.
Sources said the ministerial state board team met earlier this week. They tipped Airports Authority of Trinidad and Tobago (AATT) chairman Gerry Hadeed to become new CNMG chairman. Once appointed to CNMG, they said, he would shift from AATT.
