Po­lice seized 65 rounds of as­sort­ed am­mu­ni­tion, an ap­pendage for a ma­chine gun and a quan­ti­ty of mar­i­jua­na dur­ing a raid at Box­hill Trace, Laven­tille on Thurs­day.Two sus­pects, aged 23 and 26, were ar­rest­ed.Led by head of the In­ter Agency Task Force Supt Carl­ton Al­leyne and Sgt Jones, of­fi­cers went to Box­hill Trace around 7 pm and searched sev­er­al homes for il­le­gal arms, am­mu­ni­tion and nar­cotics.

Dur­ing the op­er­a­tion which end­ed around 11 pm, of­fi­cers searched an aban­doned house and dis­cov­ered a black bag con­tain­ing 30 rounds of 5.56 am­mu­ni­tion, 30 rounds of 9 mm am­mu­ni­tion and five rounds of .45 am­mu­ni­tion.Al­so in the bag was the bar­rel of a Mach 10 ma­chine gun, along with a quan­ti­ty of mar­i­jua­na.The sus­pects re­mained in cus­tody at the Besson Street Po­lice Sta­tion late yes­ter­day.
