Murder accused Ramchand Doodlal was once again remanded to St Ann’s Psychiatric Hospital when he reappeared in the San Fernando Magistrates Court yesterday. Doodlal, 43, is accused of killing 72-year-old Carmen Ramjattan in her Sunkist Drive, Phillipine, home last month.

Yesterday Doodlal, a handyman from La Romaine, reappeared before Deputy Chief Magistrate Mark Wellington. Doodlal is accused of beating Ramjattan to death on February 21.
Her body was found in the bathroom. She had been bludgeoned to death and her hands and feet were bound with rope.

When the magistrate called Doodlal’s name, he did not acknowledge Wellington but stared at the ceiling. Wellington said the 14-day adjournment would take Doodlal’s matter to Easter, so he adjourned it to April 2.
