Police on mobile patrol searched him and reportedly found a Beretta 9 mm pistol and five rounds of 9 mm ammunition on him.Attorney Richard Clarke-Wills argued that James had been a victim of police brutality over two days and was the father of a nine-month-old girl and the sole provider for his family.
Objecting to bail, Sgt Stanley Joseph asked the court to consider James' pending matter for a similar offence, the prevalence of the offence and the strength of the prosecution's case, which he claimed would be "successful." Daniel remanded James in custody until March 22.
