The matter against a construction worker who allegedly burnt his common-law wife in an attempt to murder her is expected to start on May 1.Harrypersad Singh, 31, of Hermitage Village, San Fernando, is out on bail.He re-appeared yesterday before Deputy Chief Magistrate Mark Wellington in the San Fernando First Court on a charge of attempted murder of Andrea Badree, 28.
Badree, who had visible scars about her chest, neck, hands and face, was also in court.It is alleged that Singh threw a flammable liquid on Badree at their home on March 3, 2012. Badree, a mother of two, spent several months in hospital. She suffered burns to 40 per cent of her body. Cpl Ramlogan, the complainant, was also in court.
