Nationals should use every opportunity to keep lifestyle diseases down, says Rudranath Indarsingh, Couva South MP.He was speaking at the ceremony to turn on the lights at the Milton Recreation Ground, Couva, last week.Indarsingh said diseases such as diabetes and heart-related problems are on the rise because a large section of the community fail to exercise adequately and follow a healthy diet. He urged people to use the well lit grounds at night to exercise and bond with their families.
Nicole Rodriguez-Eligon, director of communications at the Ministry of Public Utilities, who delivered the address of Minister of Public Utilities Nizam, Baksh, said studies in the United States show areas with a low level of physical activities have higher rates of crime.
