Tobago Catholic Priest, Father Steve Duncan, believes Minister of National Security Jack Warner should reflect on his position in Government in light of the allegations surrounding him.
Warner has been mum since news reports began circulating that his son, Daryan, had agreed to assist the FBI and IRS in a probe into allegation of corruption in the affairs of Fifa and the Confederation of North, Central American and Caribbean Association Football (Concacaf).
Speaking to the media following the re-enactment of Christ's journey to Calvary yesterday, Duncan said due to the repeated calls by the nation, the truth should prevail in the spirit of Easter.
He said there was cause for reflection by Warner in order for him to see the veracity of the situation."Sometimes there are procedures employed you may not always be able to define and to determine what the truth is in the situation, so I think this Easter time truth should prevail and that truth should come about from an earnest and a hint of reflection on the self, not only in terms of Mr Warner, but in terms of all individuals, and so that we can live and reflect the truth that we profess in Jesus Christ," he said.
Catholics in Tobago journeyed from Cinnamon Hill to the Roman Catholic Church in Mason Hall in Tobago during yesterday's Good Friday festivities.Father Duncan said this was his first re-enactment following his appointment in October 2012, adding there was a good turnout."It was a good turnout in relation to what happened in the previous years and I really thought that the parishioners and those who joined us entered into the spirit of the procession, and that basically was to take what we read in the scriptures and interpret them in contemporary language so that we are able to unite ourselves more," he said.
