Fifa President Sepp Blatter says he's "deeply hurt" by the findings of an investigative audit report into the finances of Concacaf under former president Jack Warner's tenure.Blatter and Concacaf president Jeff Webb spoke with a few select journalists, including a CNC3 reporter, at a news conference following Friday's congress in Panama.
The report, presented by former Barbadian chief justice Sir David Simmons, accuses National Security Minister Jack Warner and his longtime friend Chuck Blazer (now whistleblower) of committing fraud against Concacaf.Asked about the report, Blatter said, "What I have heard today I would say I am more surprised. I said 'Where are we going?' This is now a report by this Integrity Committee and I don't put anything into question. But I would say it really hurts. I would say it hurts."
Blatter added, "I can only say congratulations that you have installed this Integrity Committee and this is transparency. This is also what we are doing in Fifa. And we have already had our management move tools for transparency. One for finances. One for ethics. And we are working on that. And I am happy that you started to do the same here." A CNC3 report last night stated Fifa's lawyers were going through the Concacaf report.
