The Trinidad & Tobago Guardian newspaper was the first to unearth that the Joao Havelange Centre of Excellence (COE) football facility was owned by CCAM and Co Ltd and Renwar Investments Ltd.The story, which was written by Melissa Doughty, was published on June 2, 2012, based on documents obtained.Renraw is "Warner" spelt backwards. The company's annual return for 2011 listed Warner, his wife, Maureen and son Daryan as directors of Renraw Ltd.
The article stated that the COE was the subject of a legal battle between Fifa, the world governing body for football, and Warner.Fifa said last May, that there were plans to take legal steps to recover the ownership of the centre, said to be worth over US$25 million, and which Fifa funded.Fifa said the centre was signed over to Warner's family firms. Warner, however, said it belonged to the Caribbean Football Union.
