Tobago police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a 28-year-old woman from Trinidad.Dead is Madonna Julien Paul of Welcome Peter Street, Siparia. The T&T Guardian understands that the woman had been living in Tobago for the past four years.According to police reports, the woman was found dead in her apartment at Anthony Charles Crescent, Crown Point, around midnight on Friday.
Her body was discovered by her landlord who was investigating a foul stench emanating from the apartment. The woman was reportedly last seen alive on Tuesday around 6 pm.A police source said that preliminary inspections revealed the body was partially decomposed, but homicide was suspected as there appeared to be bruises around the woman's neck. An autopsy is to be conducted next week.
The body was ordered removed to the Scarborough General Hospital Mortuary by District Medical Officer Dr Francois.It is understood that a male suspect was taken into custody and was assisting police with inquiries.The Tobago Homicide Bureau is continuing investigations.
