To­ba­go po­lice are in­ves­ti­gat­ing the cir­cum­stances sur­round­ing the death of a 28-year-old woman from Trinidad.Dead is Madon­na Julien Paul of Wel­come Pe­ter Street, Siparia. The T&T Guardian un­der­stands that the woman had been liv­ing in To­ba­go for the past four years.Ac­cord­ing to po­lice re­ports, the woman was found dead in her apart­ment at An­tho­ny Charles Cres­cent, Crown Point, around mid­night on Fri­day.

Her body was dis­cov­ered by her land­lord who was in­ves­ti­gat­ing a foul stench em­a­nat­ing from the apart­ment. The woman was re­port­ed­ly last seen alive on Tues­day around 6 pm.A po­lice source said that pre­lim­i­nary in­spec­tions re­vealed the body was par­tial­ly de­com­posed, but homi­cide was sus­pect­ed as there ap­peared to be bruis­es around the woman's neck. An au­top­sy is to be con­duct­ed next week.

The body was or­dered re­moved to the Scar­bor­ough Gen­er­al Hos­pi­tal Mor­tu­ary by Dis­trict Med­ical Of­fi­cer Dr Fran­cois.It is un­der­stood that a male sus­pect was tak­en in­to cus­tody and was as­sist­ing po­lice with in­quiries.The To­ba­go Homi­cide Bu­reau is con­tin­u­ing in­ves­ti­ga­tions.
