My name is Rachael Davis and I'm a newspaper classified ads sales rep.I'm from Siparia. All my life I call it "Si-paria" but a lot of people call it "Sipa-ria". It was great growing up there, more on the country side, not too much the town side.I had girl days in Siparia, playing cricket, basketball, all outdoor activities. I went to Siparia Hindu School and Siparia East Secondary.I'm not Hindu and I was never baptised but I believe in Jesus. My mom was a strong believer, my aunt and everyone. They're Pentecostals.
My mom died when I was 14. We were very close. It was a very sad time. I still have difficulty with it, from time to time. That was six years ago. I have one sister and three brothers. I'm the second-to-last and youngest girl.I'm not saying I don't want kids down the line but I'm too young for that now.
I still live Siparia and travel and come up to Town every day. Leave home at half-five and reach exact eight o'clock. Sometimes traffic real terrible. To go back, if I leave around half-four, I reach back around quarter to seven. So I leave home in the dark and reach back in the dark. This is my first real job and, every day, it's a lot of travelling but I don't mind. I was real bored staying home, so it good to come out and do something and make some money instead of sitting home doing nothing. And costing money.
I used to come to Town with my aunt sometimes and we used to come on Carnival Tuesday to watch mas on the street. It was fun. I'm thinking about playing mas next year. But, if I have to take one of those Carnival costume bank loans, because is real expensive, I might change my mind about that.I have an uncle working uptown who lives by me so I come up with him. If he's not coming, I'll travel. The water taxi is much faster. But I prefer the straight drop home with my uncle.
Port-of-Spain is a real exciting place. The people! They have a lot more energy and vibes up on this side. There really is never a dull moment. When I'm passing on the street and someone tells me something, whether it's nice or disrespectful, I just ignore. It doesn't bother me but my sister gets upset a lot about that.I like to sit down home and watch TV. Vampire Diaries is my favourite show. Every Thursday, at 8 o'clock, I'll be in front the TV. I read a lot, too: Vampire Diaries. The books. I just recently bought the first one.
I listen to all kinda music: alternative; pop; R&B; dancehall. I love Chris Brown, even though he cuff down Rihanna. This is the first time I'm going to be "in the papers." I'm a little shy.I hear I have pretty eyes a lot. They have plenty girls with pretty eyes through contact lenses but mine are the real thing. My hope for the future if for God to continue blessing me: good health; strength; just to be happy.Money can't buy happiness.
I started last year July as a classifieds sales clerk. I place classifieds if anyone comes in to the office or over the phone. I also place classifieds on the Internet. I don't take payment. They pay the cashier. Over the phone, they can pay by credit card.I go for lunch at one. Town Centre. Excellent City Centre. But KFC is my favourite. Extra crispy side breast.
The best part of my job is being able to put in someone ad and giving them the satisfaction that it goes in correctly, no mistakes, and they're happy with the service they're getting. There is no bad part. I'm not sure if I get a bonus for placing more ads.A Trini is a true partier. A down-to-earth person that just loves to have a good time.I went to Tobago, like, twice, but I never left the country. Trindad and Tobago means everything to me. I want to go to Margarita but, apart from that, I'm very happy in Trinidad.
