Body of terrorist victim comes home tomorrow
The body of terrorist attack victim Ravindra Ramrattan has left Kenya and is scheuled to arrive in T&T tomorrow afternoon after a long trip, via London, according to acting Foreign Affairs Minister Roodal Moonilal. He gave an update yesterday after receiving reports from Patrick Edwards, T&T’s High Commissioner to Uganda, who is handling the arrangements.
Ramrattan, who worked for the World Bank in Kenya, was among the 72 victims of last weekend’s terrorist attack by the Al Qaeda affiliate, Al Shabaab group, on the Westgate Mall in the Kenyan capital, Nairobi. Asked about international reports that victims were asked by the terrorists if they were Muslims, tested with Koranic words to see if they were and were killed if they were not, Moonilal said he was aware of the international reports but could not say the exact circumstances, except that Ramrattan was “executed”.
Moonilal said Edwards had gone to Kenya to arrange the return of Ramrattan’s body. He said Government also was working with Ramrattan’s parents and Dass Funeral Home on arrangements for the funeral.
