Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar says any attack on her is an attack on all women.Speaking at a United National Congress (UNC) meeting in Debe on Friday night hours after returning from Barbados she said: "When the PNM says my leadership is wrong that my leadership is bad, I take it seriously."It troubles me because it is an attack on the good families that we have inherited and the leadership we got from our parents and from their mothers."
Noting that mother's take on leadership roles in families, Persad-Bissessar said: "The leadership of today is born of the wisdom of you the mothers of our nation and so when you lead your families by compassion, by understanding you manage their needs."Calling on mother to stand up as unsung heroes, she added: "Any attack on me is an attack on you mothers of the land. I will defend today, tomorrow and to my last breath. We must continue to build."
Responding to detractors who are saying they were rushing to open the Grand Bazaar Interchange because they want votes, the Prime Minister said: "So what's wrong with getting votes?"Persad-Bissessar said work will begin on the Valencia by-pass soon and work is already in progress on the Diego Martin Highway."Why do we need all these roads?
