Two killed in city shootings

The coun­try's mur­der toll con­tin­ued to climb as an­oth­er man was shot dead on Sun­day night.Ac­cord­ing to po­lice re­ports, around 7.45 pm Ja­mal Mo­hammed, 33, of Duke Street, Port-of-Spain, was seat­ed in the front seat of a car parked at the cor­ner of Char­lotte and Duke Streets in com­pa­ny with an­oth­er man when two men ap­proached and fired sev­er­al shots strik­ing Mo­hammed.The dri­ver of the car took him to the Port-of-Spain Gen­er­al Hos­pi­tal where he was pro­nounced dead on ar­rival. The dri­ver was not in­jured.

At the Foren­sic Sci­ence Cen­tre, St James, yes­ter­day rel­a­tives opt­ed not to speak with mem­bers of the me­dia.Al­so at the Foren­sic Sci­ence Cen­tre were rel­a­tives of Earl Sax­on who was shot dead on Sat­ur­day night.Po­lice re­ports state that the 42-year-old con­trac­tor and PH dri­ver was shot dead as he sat in his car around 8 pm at Man­go Rose, Laven­tille.Sax­on, 42, of Hen­ry Boule­vard, Trou Macaque, Laven­tille, had 22 chil­dren, the old­est 25 and the youngest nine months.

Sax­on, alias "Bala", is be­lieved to have been killed over a con­tract to re­con­struct the burnt down Trou Macaqure apart­ments, ac­cord­ing to the moth­er of two of his chil­dren, Shasha Mitchell.The moth­er of Sax­on's youngest child, She­ri­na Far­ri­er, said he was a kind and lov­ing man who did not de­serve to die.
