The country's murder toll continued to climb as another man was shot dead on Sunday night.According to police reports, around 7.45 pm Jamal Mohammed, 33, of Duke Street, Port-of-Spain, was seated in the front seat of a car parked at the corner of Charlotte and Duke Streets in company with another man when two men approached and fired several shots striking Mohammed.The driver of the car took him to the Port-of-Spain General Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival. The driver was not injured.
At the Forensic Science Centre, St James, yesterday relatives opted not to speak with members of the media.Also at the Forensic Science Centre were relatives of Earl Saxon who was shot dead on Saturday night.Police reports state that the 42-year-old contractor and PH driver was shot dead as he sat in his car around 8 pm at Mango Rose, Laventille.Saxon, 42, of Henry Boulevard, Trou Macaque, Laventille, had 22 children, the oldest 25 and the youngest nine months.
Saxon, alias "Bala", is believed to have been killed over a contract to reconstruct the burnt down Trou Macaqure apartments, according to the mother of two of his children, Shasha Mitchell.The mother of Saxon's youngest child, Sherina Farrier, said he was a kind and loving man who did not deserve to die.
