My name is Soraya Camacho and I like to walk my dog, Sophie, in the Savannah for the Christmas.
I'm eight years old and I'm in standard two. I'm from St Ann's and from Siparia. I spend time both places because my mummy living Siparia and my daddy living St Ann's. My dog in Siparia is Twinkle.
On Christmas Day, I will spend morning until lunchtime with my mummy. And then, around lunch, is daddy time! So I have Siparia Christmas and St Ann's Christmas. Both are better. The best part of Christmas is to open presents. I hoping for an electronic scooter. I don't know if Santa will bring it for me because I don't really believe in Santa. But, if he bring it, I will take it.
I am Roman Catholic but I go to Siparia Hindu School. At recess, we play hand-games, we play hide-and-seek, we play catch, we play teacher-game. Teacher game is like you pretend to be the teacher and the other ones pretend to be the students. We play school in school.
When you playing hand-game, you sing a song: Alla-calla/ Dirty-calla/ Tea bag Columbus/ Ta-ta-ta-tiki-ta-ta-ta-BOOM! And you clap your hands with the other girl while you singing.
I only play piano now but I used to play pan. The tune I like to play most is Happy Birthday. I played Happy Birthday for my friend Sarah once.
My best friends in St Ann's are Sarah and Kemani. I have four best friends in Siparia. A girl named Vandana, a girl named Kalisha, a girl named Neshani and a girl named Kavita.
My favourite colour is pink and white. Sophie, my dog, has a long pink tongue. But that is not why I like her. I like her ears, is so curly, like hair.
In school, it very hard and you need to focus. Because, in my class, it have 25 children! A lot of distractions, but I can focus. I came seventh in test.
My favourite food is croissant-and-peanut butter. I like doubles, too, but not as much as macaroni and cheese my Mummy cook for me.
My favourite game is dress-up, putting clothes on girls at Barbie.com. I hope I could be a designer when I grow up. If not a designer, a teacher, to teach small children. I already practising. When we play teacher-game, I am the teacher. And my best-best friend, Vandana, is the principal.
I bit everybody in the daycare when I was small. I was a biter. But I stop being a biter. Because I was getting in trouble every time.
I went up to Tampa, Orlando, to see Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande with my daddy. I went on a plane to America twice, Tobago, Barbados, Tobago again, St Lucia, Jamaica.
The nicest part isn't looking out the window, it's that they serve drinks. And you get a pillow to lie down on. I did not sleep, though. I watch a movie on my computer.
All my grandparents are alive. I'm a lucky girl.
When we reach the Savannah, I take Sophie off the leash, so she could run about. She's run far. And she does bite! She already bite people in the Savannah.
When Sophie runs away in the Savannah, we don't chase her; we need to call her. She prefer to come back than bite people. If somebody have to chase her, I will chase her. My daddy doesn't chase. He's say, "Sophie! Sophie! Come!"
The best part about walking Sophie in the Savannah is to see everybody in the Savannah so happy to see Sophie. The bad part is to see Sophie bite everybody in the Savannah.
I know I am a Trini. And I know a Trini is somebody who live in Trinidad. A Trini takes walks. They drink. And they lime with their friends.
I don't like T&T. It have traffic and thing. I want to live in Florida. But I like Trinidad because my family is here.
